There’s Never A Dull Moment in the life of Dashius Clay. As soon as you put NADM in and press play that becomes apparent rather quickly. A fresh breath of different. The Rap/EDM producer and recording artist goes hard for the MiYayo on his latest release, Never A Dull Moment, which is now available on most major retailers (iTunes/Apple Music/Google Play/Spotify ect).
For us here at AUR? the rabbit hole journey began on RiiahWORLD’s recent release, Worst Case Scenario, that dropped just a few days before NADM with the record “Big Chair” a collaboration between the two Miami artists.
It was actually then we started anticipating Dashius Clay’s project… and Mr. Clay didn’t let us down.
Right from the jump the Intro (So Gone) sets the mood for this electronic fused Miami rap gem. Grinding takes those unique DC vibes up a notch. And while we’ve only known Dashius for 6 months or so that record verifies everything we’ve come to know of him, the dude is serious about his craft and commands mutual respect.
Man of the City & No More Rain are our favorite two. They are more trap-trippy with complete, clean concepts. The NADM album as a whole has a wide ranging collective vibe. It must be the red beard!
The singles Look At My Golds & Oh You Mad have mass appeal and the hooks/melodies seem to linger around after NADM is over. We don’t care who publicizes “Golds” (Gold Teeth) anybody who keeps it 100 will tell you Miami-Dade County is the home of Gold Slugs (or at least deep rooted in its history). Dashius is just doing his Miamian due diligence on this slightly Eminem-ish sounding produced anthem.
Then Dashius channels his inner Kanye with records like Hopes On Flame & What Do We Stand For and shows his versatility.
The album couldn’t be official without some electronic/EDM so you know Dashius left us Fading to the Sun with a Rusty flavored electronic outro.
