Dashius Clay – Never A Dull Moment [Album Stream + DL]

There’s Never A Dull Moment in the life of Dashius Clay. As soon as you put NADM in and press play that becomes apparent rather quickly. A fresh breath of different. The Rap/EDM producer and recording artist goes hard for the MiYayo on his latest release, Never A Dull Moment, which is now available on most major retailers (iTunes/Apple Music/Google Play/Spotify ect).

For us here at AUR? the rabbit hole journey began on RiiahWORLD’s recent release, Worst Case Scenario, that dropped just a few days before NADM with the record “Big Chair” a collaboration between the two Miami artists.

It was actually then we started anticipating Dashius Clay’s project… and Mr. Clay didn’t let us down.

Right from the jump the Intro (So Gone) sets the mood for this electronic fused Miami rap gem. Grinding takes those unique DC vibes up a notch. And while we’ve only known Dashius for 6 months or so that record verifies everything we’ve come to know of him, the dude is serious about his craft and commands mutual respect.

Man of the City & No More Rain are our favorite two. They are more trap-trippy with complete, clean concepts. The NADM album as a whole has a wide ranging collective vibe. It must be the red beard!

The singles Look At My Golds & Oh You Mad have mass appeal and the hooks/melodies seem to linger around after NADM is over. We don’t care who publicizes “Golds” (Gold Teeth) anybody who keeps it 100 will tell you Miami-Dade County is the home of Gold Slugs (or at least deep rooted in its history). Dashius is just doing his Miamian due diligence on this slightly Eminem-ish sounding produced anthem.

Then Dashius channels his inner Kanye with records like Hopes On Flame & What Do We Stand For and shows his versatility.

The album couldn’t be official without some electronic/EDM so you know Dashius left us Fading to the Sun with a Rusty flavored electronic outro.

Rare Video Unearthed: Tupac Shakur & Snoop Dogg Discuss Voting At Brotherhood Crusade Rally

A NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN Tupac Shakur AND Snoop Dog video has just surfaced!

This video shows Suge Knight, Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, and other artists signed to Death Row Records speaking on the importance of voting.

Snoop and Pac

by DANIELLE HARLING

Suge Knight says Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg were the spokespersons for Death Row Records, in 1996 video.

A video that had previously never been seen, shows Suge Knight, Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, and other artists signed to Death Row Records speaking on the importance of voting, during an appearance at the Brotherhood Crusade Rally on August 15, 1996.

Suge Knight, who was the CEO of Death Row Records at the time the video was recorded, introduced both Tupac and Snoop, referring to both artists as the spokespersons for the label.

Death Row

“One thing I’d like to say, if it weren’t for the community it would be no Death Row Records,” Suge Knight said. “And more important than all that, if it weren’t for Snoop, Daz, Hammer, Tupac…it would be no me. So, I’m not here to try to get the limelight or be famous, nothing like that. I think my spokesperson for Death Row always will be—The guy who acts, raps. The other guy who raps and now he’s a model. I’d like to bring Tupac and Snoop up.”

Tupac, who was killed less than one month after his appearance at the rally, spoke on how fans who purchase albums from artists at Death Row should also represent voters.

Pac Snoop and Suge

“We just want y’all to know that at Death Row we appreciate everything y’all doing for us,” Tupac said. “My record sales, we got six million. Snoop got four million. Dogg Pound got three million. And we keep going. That means we represent that many votes. If we can represent that many votes, we gotta let these politicians be scared of us. That means anytime we drop something y’all gotta pick it up. Every time y’all call for us, we gon’ come.”

Following Pac’s speech, Snoop Dogg offered a few words of his own on voting. He spoke on representing one’s community through voting.

Snoop and MC Hammer

“It’s our voice that means something,” Snoop said. “It’s all on us. If we don’t speak ain’t nobody gonna speak for us. They gon’ speak against, so we got to speak up. As a rapper. As a brother from the community. Somebody who is intact with what y’all feel and with what y’all go through. I’m one of the main voices saying that I’m with getting out here, voting. And getting y’all to get out there and vote. And be about what you about cause y’all community is you.”

Drake – Right Hand

No pretext is really needed, but if you never made it past the hoopla surrounding “Back 2 Back” and “Hotline Bling” we got you!

Drake embraced the drama brought to him by Meek Mill and rose to the occasion seemingly in every facet. He casually released “Right Hand” in the wake of “Back 2 Back” and “Hotline Bling” so it’s understandable how it’s slipped through the cracks thus far.

Though Drake currently appears on 6 songs in the Billboard Top 100s chart “Right Hand” isn’t there nor is it garnering much national attention. Nevertheless it’s a brilliant record and the production is phenomanal.

Check it out below. Thank us later.

Marley Brooker – Don’t Play (Remix) feat. Travi$ Scott #Ferguson Edition

Mike Brown Shooting Site

As Mike Brown is laid to rest today one stage of the Ferguson saga comes to an end. By now almost all of the world knows the story of Mike Brown’s shooting by a Ferguson Police Officer named Darren Wilson. For those who aren’t that familiar with the incident Marley Brooker weighs in with his two cents from a unique perspective.

AUR?: Whats up Marley, we know you’ve kept up with this Ferguson incident from day 1 and been vocal on your social media account would you like to weigh in on anything for those who may not follow you on twitter?

MCB: Thank you for the platform. I love this blog. I’ve said so much I’m all talked and tweeted out. I know people may be getting “tired” of this Ferguson/Mike Brown situation. But I’d like to speak up as this whole thing shifts into the next phase. Via my music. My mouth gets me in trouble (laughs).

AUR?: Is this why you chose to release something on the manner today?

MCB: Well… today the young brother was laid to rest, RIP Mike, and it’s also Monday, a day I coined #MarleyMondays,  which I often release new music on. I wrote the first verse 5 or 6 days ago when they had just raised about 200k for the Cop. Monday proved to be a fitting date.

AUR?: Word.

MCB: I’m not gonna say too much more on Ferguson, which happens to be my last name, but for those of you interested in my insight just check my twitter out (twitter.com/MarleyBrooker) and review my tweets I RT a lot of really dope things from people who were on the ground in Ferguson like Shaun King (twitter.com/ShaunKing) and Antonio French (twitter.com/AntonioFrench). I also live streamed I am Mike Brown & Vice News’ feeds (twitter.com/vicenews) .

AUR?: We follow you on twitter and you kept us very in the loop. What about the record? Don’t Play? You touched on some controversial things, care to elaborate?

MCB: Honestly I’d love to… but everything I’d tell you now I included in the 2 verses I put on Travi$ Scott’s instrumental. Shoutout to Travi$ Scott make sure y’all check for his new album, Days Before Rodeo, it’s fire. I also went ahead and annotated a significant amount of the important lyrics on Rap Genius in particular my views on Sgt. Maj. Dan Page and his highly volatile speech to the St. Louis Oath Keepers which got him “fired” from Ferguson Police, some of CNN’s questionable reporting and the chances I think Mike Brown have of getting justice. So just listen AND read!

AUR?: Will do! In this case reading may even be more beneficial. I have the Rap Genius app on my iPhone so I will check it out. Thanks for the time!

MCB: No thank you guys! The pleasure is always mine. Anytime you call, you know I’ll answer Ms. Hammond.

AUR?: Lol. Of course!

#HashtagLunchbag Day 1 7/20

Two weeks ago along side @Fefi_DoesIt & @YesJulz, we made over 475 lunch bags and gave them out to the homeless. We combined art, cars, and music by @AFlyGuy into an event to give back to the community. I’d like to Thank everyone who came out and helped us create/handout the lunch bags to those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Sometimes we forget that things aren’t as bad as we think they are. We have to take those moments to stop and enjoy what we have and those people in our lives that keep us going. We will be doing this event every month and it will only get bigger and better.

Below is video from the event recorded by www.The305.com and an excerpt from their article.

We were blessed to be a part of a project called Hashtag Lunchbag that took over Lou La Vie in Downtown Miami; to set up lunch bags for the less fortunate residents in Miami who are without homes. A goal was set for 300 bags to be completed and distributed, but that goal was surpassed with a total of 476 lunch bags completed and distributed.

Tons of people came out to show support with donations and with their time in putting together the lunch bags including model Iesha Marie, DJ A Fly Guy, Chris Paciello, Nick Ramirez (photographer), B Cruz (photographer) and so much more.

Tupac’s “All Eyez On Me” Earns Diamond Certification From RIAA

all-eyez-on-me

by ANDRES TARDIO

Tupac’s “All Eyez On Me” goes ten times platinum 18 years after its release.

Tupac’s 1996 album, All Eyez On Me, has earned diamond certification, according to the RIAA.

The album, which features “California Love (Remix),” “How Do U Want It,” “Life Goes On” and “2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted,” among other hits, has gone 10 times platinum 18 years after its initial release.

When it was released, All Eyez On Me earned less than perfect reviews. Rolling Stone awarded the album a 3 out of 5. “Even as a garden-variety thug, 2Pac shows more skill than most,” Rolling Stone said at the time. “He deserves to have all eyes — and ears — on him.”

Entertainment Weekly gave the album a B+. “Shakur has often made more compelling courtroom appearances (and movies) than records, but All Eyez on Me changes that dramatically,” EW said at the time. “Shakur belongs on Death Row — the rap hit-factory label, that is, which is also home to Dr. Dre and Snoop Doggy Dogg. With a slew of producers, including Dre and nearly a dozen disciples of his g-funk sound, the album swings nonstop for over two rambunctious hours.”

In 2006, HipHopDX called All Eyez On Me Tupac’s definitive album.

“More than any of his other efforts, ‘Pac contradicted himself like crazy here,” HipHopDX said at the time. “But it was those contradictions within himself that made him the icon that he is today. Hip Hop has always been about the good, the bad and the ugly and Pac showed us the full the spectrum here. To this day is remains his definitive work.”

The Vapors (Relentless Remix) – Marley Brooker featuring Jhene Aiko. Off Marley Brooker’s upcoming mixtape “Heartbreak Marley”. #MarleyMondays

Jhene Aiko and Marley Brooker

“I kind of been sprung off Jhene since I heard her on that track that had Kanye on it about selling souls… It caught my ear I think it was ‘Sailing NOT Selling’. Her beat game is always very proper. I’m a fan of quality production.” Marley tells Are U Relentless? “My homegirls listen to her heavy and once I seen that she was a cutie it was a wrap for the me… the music me! I’m surprised it took me so long to mixtape one of her joints especially since I’m a studio rat.”

Heartbreak Marley is scheduled for release in 12 days. It contains a collection of previously unreleased recordings and new songs that reflect the different aspects of heartbreak Marley has experienced or caused.

Lil’ Kim ‘Just Now Getting Over’ Notorious B.I.G’s Death, 16 Years Later

Years after Biggie’s death, Kim will celebrate for the first time.

Lil’ Kim on “RapFix Live”

The loss of the Notorious B.I.G. was tough for hip-hop, but while fans lost a legend, Lil’ Kim lost a dear friend.

When the Queen Bee appeared on “RapFix Live” on Wednesday, she fielded a question from Bun B, who lost his UGK partner in rhyme Pimp C back in 2007. “How was it dealing with the loss of Biggie for you in this industry,” Bun asked Kim in a pre-taped video.

“Bun B, that’s a very tough question because it took me so long — super long to deal with the loss of a person who was such a huge impact in my life,” she said.

Lil' Kim and The Notorious B.I.G.

The Notorious B.I.G. was tragically murdered on March 9, 1997 and while his passing saddened the hip-hop community as a whole, each year, fans, DJs, club promoters and other artists acknowledge March 9 as a day of celebration for Big’s life and music.

Kim first made her mark as a part of Biggie’s Junior Mafia crew, and at one time, she carried on an intimate relationship with the fallen MC. On Saturday, Kim will celebrate, for the first time ever, at club Glazz in Queens, New York. “That’s my first event ever on March 9 because I used to get offered events a lot and I said ‘no,’ ” she said. “I never celebrate that day. It’s so funny because I can always feel when that day is approaching. I get so depressed. I get so sad. It happens before March, in February. I can feel it coming and I used to all say ‘no.’

“So to answer Bun B, I’m just now getting over that fact, and it’s how many years later,” she said.

How do you celebrate March 9? Let us know in the comments!
